In May, a free cellular operator "Atlas" will appear in Moscow, St. Petersburg and surrounding regions.

Each subscriber when connected will receive a package of free minutes for conversation, SMS messages and Internet traffic. All over this package will need to be paid separately.

Initially, in 2013, in the first version of "Atlas", it was not at all about paying subscribers for connecting to the network, but, unfortunately, the start of the project was constantly postponed and, as a result, the initial plan has undergone significant changes.

According to the head of the project, Eugene Gordeyev, it will be possible to use the connection for free due to the fact that the operator will work closely with partner organizations and work a lot on the barter. But it is still unknown, no one became the owner of the "Atlas", no partners have any contracts. The only thing you can say with confidence is the new operator services will be available to subscribers with telephones on Android or iOS platforms, where there is the ability to install applications.

The emergence of new telecom operators has become possible after Roskomnadzor obliged MTS, MegaFon, Beeline and Tele2 until July 25, to open its networks to independent virtual communication operators (MVNO) in exchange for LTE license (4G), which they received in 2012.
